Raj and Meeta try to secure a spot for their daughter in a prestigious school by pretending to be poor, but their plan backfires when their secret is exposed, leading Raj to advocate for education rights and plan to admit Pia to the other boys school. Maddock Films in association with T-Series. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Bhushan Kumar and Dinesh Vijan. Hindi Medium is written by Saket Chaudhary, Zeenat Lakhani, Amitosh Nagpal and Abdul Rafay Chandio and it is directed by Saket Chaudhary. AA Films acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Hindi Medium was released on 18th May 2017 and takes a screen time of 132 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Hindi Medium was made on a budget of ₹23 crore and it was a super hit at box office gross of ₹63 crore. Cinematography was done by Laxman Utekar and editing by A. Sreekar Prasad. The music was composed by Gur Randhawa along with Rajat Nagpal, Sukhbir Rana, Sachin Jigar, Guru Randhawa and Amar Mohile. At the 2018 IIFA Awards It won 2 awards including: Best Actor in a Leading Role (Irrfan Khan) and Best Director.
