A man named Ravi, who returns to his village after winning a fighting competition, seeks revenge on a tyrant landlord who framed his father for robbery and caused his suicide, with the help of the landlords daughter, Rekha, who falls in love with Ravi, and together they expose the wrongdoings of the landlord and his accomplices. Himmatwala is a 2013 Indian Hindi-language Action Comedy movie featuring Ajay Devgn, Tamannaah, Paresh Rawal, Mahesh Manjrekar, Leena Jumani, Adhyayan Suman and Mona Thiba. The movie is inspired from Himmatwala by K. Raghavendra Rao. UTV Motion Pictures in association with Pooja Entertainment. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Ronnie Screwvala and Vashu Bhagnani. Himmatwala is written by K. Raghavendra Rao, Sajid Khan, Farhad Samji and Sajid-farhad and it is directed by Sajid Khan. UTV Motion Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Himmatwala was released on 28th March 2013 and takes a screen time of 150 minutes. Himmatwala was made on a budget of ₹1 crore and at the box office it grossed only ₹89 lakh. Cinematography was done by Manoj Soni and editing by Nitin Madhukar Rokade. The music was composed by IIFA Award winner Wajid Ali along with Bappi Lahiri, Sajid Wajid, Sachin Jigar and Sandeep Shirodkar.
