Veera, a wealthy businessmans daughter, is kidnapped and finds freedom and love with one of her captors, only for him to be killed by police, after which she leaves her family to live in the mountains and confront her past. Highway is a 2014 Indian Hindi-language Adventure Drama motion picture featuring Alia Bhatt, Randeep Hooda, Durgesh Kumar, Pradeep Nagar, Saharsh Kumar Shukla, Hemant Mathur and Md Anan Islam. Window Seat Films in association with Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Imtiaz Ali and Sajid Nadiadwala. Highway is written by Imtiaz Ali and Irshad Kamil and it is directed by Imtiaz Ali. UTV Motion Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Highway was released on 20th February 2014 and takes a screen time of 133 minutes. Highway was made on a budget of ₹25 crore and it was a hit at box office gross of ₹28 crore. Cinematography was done by Anil Mehta and editing by Aarti Bajaj. The music was composed by Ar Rahman along with A. R. Rahman. At the 2015 Filmfare Awards It won an award for Best Actress (Alia Bhatt).
