A gangsters right hand kidnaps the Police Commissioners daughter and falls in love with her, but when he surrenders to the police, her brother sets her up with someone else, leading to a series of events where the gangster ends up rescuing her and winning the approval of her father. Hero is a 1983 Indian Hindi-language Action Drama motion picture starring Jackie Shroff, Meenakshi Seshadri, Shammi Kapoor, Sanjeev Kumar, Shakti Kapoor, Madan Puri and Saigal. Hero was Produced by Subhash Ghai. Hero is written by Mukta Ghai, Subhash Ghai and Ram Kelkar and it is directed by Subhash Ghai. Mukta Arts Ltd. acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Hero was released on 16th December 1983 and takes a screen time of 173 mins. The Film was successful at box office. Hero was made on a budget of ₹3 crore and it was a super hit at box office gross of ₹17 crore. Cinematography was done by Kamalakar Rao and editing by Waman Bhonsle and Gurudutt Shirali. The music was composed by Laxmikant Shantaram Kudalkar along with Pyarelal Ramprasad Sharma and Laxmikant Pyarelal.
