As the human city development encroaches on the raccoon dog population s forest and meadow habitat, the raccoon dogs find themselves faced with the very real possibility of extinction. In response, the raccoon dogs engage in a desperate struggle to stop the construction and preserve their home. Written by Kenneth Chisholm Heisei tanuki gassen ponpoko is a 1994 Japanese Japanese-language Animation Comedy motion picture featuring Kokontei Shinchou, Makoto Nonomura, Yuriko Ishida, Shinchô Kokontei, Norihei Miki, Nijiko Kiyokawa and Yumi Kuroda. Studio Ghibli was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Toshio Suzuki. The film is written and directed by Isao Takahata. Toho acquired the distribution rights for the film. Heisei tanuki gassen ponpoko was released on 16th July 1994 and takes a screen time of 119 minutes. The movie made a box office gross of 4 billion.
