Nikhil, a struggling businessman, falls in love with Karishma, an actress, and when he is refused money from her father before their marriage, he must prove himself without borrowing, leading him to meet Meeta, Karishmas younger sister who ran away after stealing money from their father, and as they become close, Meeta confesses her feelings for Nikhil, causing him to realize he is with the wrong girl, but when he decides to break off the wedding, he sees Karishma happy and chooses not to hurt her, leading to Karishma discovering Nikhils messages to Meeta and ending their relationship, while Meeta attempts suicide but ultimately confesses her love for Nikhil and they plan to go to Germany, but Meeta reveals there is another problem awaiting them.
