A former boxer turned coach struggles with biased selection practices while discovering talent in a woman boxer and ultimately helps her win the World Boxing Championship. Guru is a 2017 Indian Hindi-language Action Drama motion picture featuring Ritika Singh, Venkatesh Daggubati, Mumtaz Sorcar, Nasser, Zakir Hussain, Tanikella Bharani and Ramajogayya Sastry. The movie is inspired from Irudhi Suttru / Saala Khadoos by Kongara. YNOT Studios was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) S. Shashikanth. Guru is written by Harshavardhan and Sudha Kongara and it is directed by Sudha Kongara. Guru was released on 30th March 2017 and takes a screen time of 176 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Guru was made on a budget of ₹22 crore and it was a super hit at box office gross of ₹45 crore. Cinematography was done by K. A. Sakthivel and editing by Sathish Suriya. The music was composed by Santhosh Narayanan.
