In 1973, a documentary focuses on the lives of Edith Bouvier Beale and her daughter Edith Little Edie Bouvier Beale, who live in a dilapidated mansion in New York, where their dreams of singing and acting were thwarted by their family, leading them to struggle to maintain their life there while facing intervention from the health department. Grey Gardens is a 2009 American English-language Biography Drama film starring Edith big Edie Ewing Bouvier Beale, Edith little Edie Bouvier Beale, Drew Barrymore, Jessica Lange, Jeanne Tripplehorn, Ken Howard and Johnny Prince. Portrait Films was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Albert Maysles, David Maysles and Susan Froemke. The movie is directed by David Maysles, Albert Maysles and Ellen Hovde. Portrait Films acquired the distribution rights for the movie.
