IG Chandrasekhar, leader of the Metro Crime Stopper Cell, must solve a series of murders that follow an alphabetical pattern while also dealing with his ex-wife, a dangerous stalker, and a missing daughter, ultimately uncovering a plot orchestrated by the brother of the lead actor in a play they were involved in. Grandmaster is a 2012 Indian Malayalam-language Mystery Thriller film starring Priyamani, Anoop Menon, Jagathy Sreekumar, Babu Antony, Arjun Nandhakumar, Mohanlal Viswanathan and Joy Badlani. UTV Motion Pictures was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur. Grandmaster is written by Agatha Christie, B. Unnikrishnan, Siddharth Roy Kapur and Ronnie Screwvala and it is directed by B. Unnikrishnan. Maxlab Cinemas and Entertainments acquired the distribution rights for the film. Grandmaster was released on 4th May 2012 and takes a screen time of 130 minutes. Cinematography was done by Vinod Illampally and editing by Manoj. The music was composed by Deepak Dev along with Gopi Sunder.
