During the Chosun period, a court lady is found dead, hanging by the rafters of the palace. After examining the dead body, place physician Chun-ryung discovers that the dead maid was probably murdered and carries out investigation even though her higher-ups pressure her to close the case as suicide. Goongnyeo was Produced by Jung Seung-hye, Won Jung-sim, Kang Woo-suk and Lee Joon-ik. Goongnyeo is written by Kim Mee-jung and Choi Seok-hwan and it is directed by Kim Mee-jung. Cinema Service acquired the distribution rights for the film. Goongnyeo was released on 18th October 2007 and takes a screen time of 118 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Goongnyeo was made on a budget of ₹35 lakh and it was a super hit at box office gross of $9 million. Cinematography was done by Lee Hyung-deok and editing by Kim Sang-bum and Kim Jae-bum.
