After a nuclear test, a giant mutant creature attacks a Japanese cannery vessel and travels to New York City causing destruction, while an NRC scientist and his ex-girlfriend try to uncover its origins and destroy its nest. The movie is inspired from Godzilla by Toho Co. Ltd. Centropolis Entertainment in association with Fried Films and Independent Pictures. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Dean Devlin. Godzilla is written by Dean Devlin, Roland Emmerich, Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio and it is directed by Roland Emmerich. TriStar Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the film. Godzilla was released on 4th June 1998 and takes a screen time of 139 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Godzilla was made on a budget of $130 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $379 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Dean Devlin and Roland Emmerich. Cinematography was done by Ueli Steiger and editing by Peter Amundson and David J. Siegel. The music was composed by David Arnold.
