Geethanjali

A carefree student with terminal cancer falls in love with a mischievous woman and conceals his illness, but when his mother reveals the truth, she becomes heartbroken and falls sick, and after her operation, they reunite and share a kiss. Geethanjali is a 1989 Indian Telugu-language Drama Romance film featuring Nagarjuna Akkineni, Girija Shettar, Vijayakumar, Radhabai, Sumitra, Aruna Mucherla and Rakesh Galebhe. Bhagyalakshmi Enterprises was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Mani Ratnam and Chittamuru Praveen Kumar Reddy. Geethanjali is written by Rajashri Raju, Mani Ratnam and Ilaiyaraaja and it is directed by Mani Ratnam. Bhagyalakshmi Enterprises acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Geethanjali was released on 19th May 1989 and takes a screen time of 135 minutes. Cinematography was done by P. C. Sreeram and editing by B. Lenin and V. T. Vijayan. The music was composed by National Award winner Ilaiyaraaja. At the 1990 South Filmfare Awards It won an award for Best Director. At the 1990 National Film Awards It also won an award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.
