A young woman named Paula moves in with her husband who tries to drive her insane in order to search for her aunts missing jewels, but she is ultimately saved by an childhood admirer of her aunt and a patrolman. Gaslight is a 1944 American English-language Crime Drama movie featuring Charles Boyer, Ingrid Bergman, Joseph Cotten, May Whitty, Angela Lansbury, Barbara Everest and Katherine Yorke. The movie is inspired from Gas Light 1938 play by Patrick Hamilton. Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Arthur Hornblow Jr. The movie is directed by George Cukor. Loew s acquired the distribution rights for the film. Gaslight was released on 16th June 1944 and takes a screen time of 114 minutes. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released and became successful at box office. Gaslight was made on a budget of $2 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $4 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by John Van Druten, Walter Reisch and John L.
