Impatient viewers may feel the film could have lost 10 or 20 minutes of exquisitely composed shots where people just walk or drive around landscapes, and clearly Ainouz may have watched Claire Deniss Beau Travail a few too many times (havent we all), but ultimately its an immensely likable movie, impeccably acted and wise about the nature of exile. Divided into three chapters, this elliptical gay romance by the Brazilian writer and director Karim Ainouz offers much to admire but struggles to engage. ( Read More )

A semblance of reflection finally appears in the third and final chapter as Donato is confronted by his estranged younger brother, Ayrton (Jesuita Barbosa). ( Read More )

This romance in chapters is directed by Karim Ainouz with sensitivity and well acted, particularly by Wagner Moura as Donato. ( Read More )
