The story follows Fanny Brices journey from a teenager pursuing a career in vaudeville to becoming a successful Broadway star, her marriage to Nicky Arnstein, and their ultimate separation due to Nickys legal troubles and gambling addiction, leaving Fanny heartbroken. Funny Girl is a 1968 American English-language Biography Comedy film featuring Barbra Streisand, Omar Sharif, Kay Medford, Anne Francis, Walter Pidgeon, Lee Allen and June Smaney. The movie is inspired from Funny Girl 1964 musical by Isobel Lennart Jule Styne Bob Merrill. Rastar was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Ray Stark. The movie is directed by William Wyler. Columbia Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Funny Girl was released on 19th September 1968 and takes a screen time of 149 minutes. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released and became successful at box office. Funny Girl was made on a budget of $14 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $52 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Isobel Lennart. Cinematography was done by Harry Stradling and editing by Robert Swink, Maury Winetrobe and William Sands. The music was composed by Jule Styne along with Bob Merrill.
