Frida is a 2002 American English-language Biography Drama film starring Salma Hayek, Alfred Molina, Valeria Golino, Ashley Judd, M A Maestro, Roger Rees and Antonio Zavala Kugler. The movie is inspired from Frida: A Biography of Frida Kahlo by Hayden Herrera. A biography of artist Frida Kahlo, who channeled the pain of a crippling injury and her tempestuous marriage into her work. Ventanarosa in association with Lions Gate Films. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Sarah Green, Salma Hayek, Jay Polstein, Lizz Speed, Nancy Hardin, Lindsay Flickinger and Roberto Sneider. Frida is written by Hayden Herrera, Clancy Sigal, Diane Lake, Gregory Nava and Anna Thomas and it is directed by Julie Taymor. Miramax Films acquired the distribution rights for the movie. The film has a running time of 123 minutes. The film made a box office gross of $28 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Clancy Sigal, Diane Lake, Gregory Nava, Anna Thomas and Edward Norton. Cinematography was done by Rodrigo Prieto and editing by Fran oise Bonnot.
