Freedom Writers is a 2007 American English-language Biography Crime movie featuring Hilary Swank, Scott Glenn, Imelda Staunton, Patrick Dempsey, April L. Hernandez, Kristin Herrera and Valery M. Ortiz. The movie is inspired from The Freedom Writers Diary by The Freedom Writers with Erin Gruwell. MTV Films in association with Jersey Films and 2S Films. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Danny Devito, Michael Shamberg and Stacey Sher. Freedom Writers is written by Richard Lagravenese, Freedom Writers and Erin Gruwell and it is directed by Richard Lagravenese. Paramount Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Freedom Writers was released on 29th March 2007 and takes a screen time of 122 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Freedom Writers was made on a budget of $21 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $43 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Richard LaGravenese. Cinematography was done by Jim Denault and editing by David Moritz. The music was composed by Mark Isham along with Will.i.am and Rza.
