A young teacher inspires her class of at-risk students to learn tolerance, apply themselves, and pursue education beyond high school. Ortiz. The movie is inspired from The Freedom Writers Diary by The Freedom Writers with Erin Gruwell. MTV Films in association with Jersey Films and 2S Films. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Danny Devito, Michael Shamberg and Stacey Sher. Freedom Writers is written by Richard Lagravenese, Freedom Writers and Erin Gruwell and it is directed by Richard Lagravenese. Paramount Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Freedom Writers was released on 29th March 2007 and takes a screen time of 122 minutes. The Film was successful at box office.
