A lonely man in Rome loses his job and falls into debt, only to find employment with a credit company where he learns to harass debtors, leading him to question his actions and seep into moral conflict while trying to impress a waitress he has feelings for by showcasing his newfound wealth, ultimately witnessing a debtors suicide and coming to the realization that his mentor values money over compassion, causing his relationship to crumble and leaving him feeling lost until his mentor seeks forgiveness at a church.
