A young man moves to a town where dancing is banned, but with the help of his friends, he convinces the local reverend to allow a prom and they all celebrate by dancing together. Footloose is a 2011 American English-language Comedy Drama movie starring Kenny Wormald, Julianne Hough, Andie Macdowell, Dennis Quaid, Miles Teller, Ray Mckinnon and Andrew Huckaby. The movie is inspired from Characters by Dean Pitchford. MTV Films in association with Spyglass Entertainment, Unique Features, Dylan Sellers, Weston Pictures, Zadan/Meron, Southern Cross the Dog and Storyline Entertainment. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Craig Zadan, Neil Meron, Dylan Sellers and Brad Weston. Footloose is written by Dean Pitchford and Craig Brewer and it is directed by Craig Brewer. Paramount Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the film. Footloose was released on 26th October 2011 and takes a screen time of 113 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Footloose was made on a budget of $8 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $63 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Craig Brewer and Dean Pitchford. Cinematography was done by Amy Vincent and editing by Billy Fox. The music was composed by Deborah Lurie.
