The blind and mute character named Onion forms a close connection with a clumsy hairdresser named Autumn, but tragically dies after getting hit by a car, only to return to Earth for five days with a different face and attempt to reconnect with Autumn without revealing his true identity, ultimately helping her in secret before departing again. Fly Me to Polaris is a 1999 Cantonese-language Drama Fantasy motion picture starring Richie Jen, Cecilia Cheung, William So, William Wing Hong So, Man-yiu Chan, Po Chun Chan and Max Yip. Fly Me to Polaris was Produced by David Chan. The movie is directed by Jingle Ma. Gala Film Distribution acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Fly Me to Polaris was released on 9th September 1999 and takes a screen time of 96 minutes. The film made a box office gross of $12 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Law Chi-leung and Yeung Sin-ling. Cinematography was done by Chan Kwok-Hung and Jingle Ma and editing by Kwong Chi-leung.
