Filmistaan

A man with Bollywood dreams gets kidnapped by a terrorist group in Pakistan during a documentary shoot, forms a bond with a Pakistani film bootlegger, and plots an escape. Filmistaan is a 2012 Indian Hindi-language Comedy Drama film featuring Sharib Hashmi, Inaamulhaq, Kumud Mishra, Gopal Dutt, Ravi Bhushan Bhartiya and Manoj Bakshi. Satellite Pictures Pvt. Ltd was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Siddharth Roy Kapur, Shyam Shroff, Balkrishna Shroff, Subhash Chaudary and Shaila Tanna. The motion picture is written and directed by Nitin Kakkar. UTV Motion Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Filmistaan was released on 6th June 2014 and takes a screen time of 117 minutes. Filmistaan was made on a budget of ₹7 crore and at the box office it grossed only ₹6 crore. The screenplay for the movie was written by Nitin Kakkar and Abhinav Garg. Cinematography was done by Subhransu Das and editing by Sachindra Vats. The music was composed by Arijit Datta. At the 2013 National Film Awards It won an award for Best Feature Film in Hindi.
