Fathers and Daughters

A Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist named Jake Davis undergoes a tragic car accident resulting in brain damage and seizures, while his daughter Katie stays with her aunt and uncle who later sue for custody; despite battling his seizures and facing criticism for his deteriorating writing, Jake writes his final book before dying from a head injury, and 25 years later, Katie, now a social worker, forms a bond with a girl named Lucy, eventually finding love and helping Lucy improve and get adopted.
