Dominic Torettos crew continues to commit crimes and evade law enforcement, but after disbanding the crew, his girlfriend Letty is killed in a suspicious car accident, leading Dom to investigate the involvement of a Mexican drug lord and ultimately join his team, culminating in a failed attempt to capture the drug lord and Doms subsequent imprisonment, which prompts Brian and the crew to rescue him.
