In 1987, a man hires two criminals to kidnap his wife for ransom, but the situation quickly spirals out of control, leading to murder and chaos, until a determined police chief ultimately brings the criminals to justice. Fargo is a 1996 English-language Crime Drama film starring William H. Macy, Steve Buscemi, Peter Stormare, Kristin Rudrüd, Harve Presnell, Tony Denman and Lori J. Ness. The movie is directed by Joel Coen. Fargo was released on 22nd March 1996 and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released and became successful at box office. Fargo was made on a budget of $7 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $60 million. At the 1997 Oscar Awards It won 2 awards including: Best Actress in a Leading Role (Frances McDormand) and Best Writing, Screenplay Written Directly for the Screen.
