The story follows a 17-year-old protagonist named Tosia who realizes their transgender identity and embarks on a journey of self-discovery, including a developing love story with a classmate and navigating complex relationships, highlighting themes of identity, acceptance, and love faced in gender transformation. Fanfic is written by Marta Karwowska and Grzegorz Jaroszuk and it is directed by Marta Karwowska. Netflix acquired the distribution rights for the film.
