The story is set in 1962 Louisiana. The Batiste family is headed by charming doctor Louis. Though he is married to beautiful Roz, he has a weakness for attractive female patients. One night Louis trysts with married and sexy Metty Mereaux, not knowing that he is observed by his youngest daughter Eve, who is there by accident. Eve can not forget the traumatic incident and shares a secret with older sister Cisely. Lies start to roll.. The motion picture is written and directed by Kasi Lemmons. Trimark Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the film. Eves Bayou was released on 7th November 1997 and takes a screen time of 109 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Eves Bayou was made on a budget of $3 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $14 million. Cinematography was done by Amy Vincent and editing by Terilyn A. Shropshire. The music was composed by Terence Blanchard.
