Anita falls in love with a magician named Tony, becomes his assistant, and marries him, but they later divorce after Tony repeatedly performs dangerous stunts and shows no interest in settling down, while Anita secretly builds a home in Connecticut; however, they eventually reconcile after Tony performs a dangerous stunt and her previous divorce is found to be invalid.
