E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial is written by Melissa Mathison and directed by Steven Spielberg. Universal Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial was released on 9th May 1986 and takes a screen time of 114 minutes. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released and became successful at box office. E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial was made on a budget of $10 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $792 million. Cinematography was done by Allen Daviau and editing by Carol Littleton. The music was composed by John Williams. At the 1983 Oscar Awards It won 4 awards including: Best Sound, Best Effects, Visual Effects, Best Effects, Sound Effects Editing and Best Music, Original Score.
