In Persia during the 5th century BC, Esther, a Jewish woman, catches the eye of King Ahasuerus who seeks her assistance in ending his evil minister Hamans campaign of hatred against the Jews. Esther and the King is a 1960 English-language Biography Drama film starring Joan Collins, Richard Egan, Denis O dea, Sergio Fantoni, Rik Battaglia, Renato Baldini and Anita Todesco. The movie is based on Book of Esther. Galatea Film in association with Titanus. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Raoul Walsh. The movie is directed by Raoul Walsh and Mario Bava. 20th Century Fox acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Esther and the King was released on 14th December 1960 and takes a screen time of 109 minutes. The screenplay for the movie was written by Raoul Walsh, Michael Elkins and Ennio De Concini. Cinematography was done by Mario Bava and editing by Jerry Webb. The music was composed by Francesco Lavagnino along with Roberto Nicolosi.
