A man named Senthamarai betrays his family and leaves them for his concubine whom he later marries, causing resentment from his son Rajendar, who takes care of his sister Kalyani, despite her falling in love with an objectionable man; eventually, Kalyanis mistreatment by her husband is discovered by Rajendar, leading to a tragic chain of events resulting in the deaths of Rajendar and Kalyani.
