A group of people led by a shady land developer encounter large ants controlled by their queens pheromones on a small island, and eventually defeat them by burning a sugar factory. Empire of the Ants is a 1977 American English-language Adventure Horror motion picture featuring Joan Collins, Robert Lansing, John Carson, John David Carson, Albert Salmi, Jacqueline Scott and Marvin Miller. Cinema 77 was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Samuel Z. Arkoff. Empire of the Ants is written by Bert I. Gordon and Jack Turley and it is directed by Bert I. Gordon. American International Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Empire of the Ants was released on 30th June 1977 and takes a screen time of 89 minutes. The film made a box office gross of $22 million. Cinematography was done by Reginald H. Morris and editing by Michael Luciano. The music was composed by Dana Kaproff.
