Election

In Hong Kong, the Wo Lin Shing triad holds an election for a new chairman, resulting in Lok being chosen over Big D; however, Big D refuses to accept the decision, leading to a series of events involving the police, arrests, testifying against Big D, threats of forming a new triad, and eventually culminating in Lok becoming chairman and retaliating against those who oppose him. Election is a 2005 Cantonese-language Crime Drama film featuring Simon Yam, Tony Leung Ka-fai, Louis Koo, Nick Cheung, Tony Ka Fai Leung, Ka Tung Lam and Wah-wo Wong. Milkyway Image in association with One Hundred Years of Film. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Dennis Law and Johnnie To. Election is written by Yau Nai-hoi and Yip Tin-shing and it is directed by Johnnie To. China Star Entertainment Group acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Election was released on 20th October 2005 and takes a screen time of 101 minutes. The motion picture made a box office gross of $2 million. Cinematography was done by Cheng Siu-Keung and editing by Patrick Tam. The music was composed by Lo Ta-yu.
