In January 1993, Jerry Shepard is tasked with finding a rare meteorite in Antarctica with a professor, but a storm forces them to turn back; however, on the way back the professor breaks his leg and falls into freezing water, prompting Shepards lead dog, Maya, to save him, after which they return to base camp only to be evacuated without the dogs, leading Shepard to fail at securing a plane for their rescue until five months later, when he finally gets the chance to save them with the professors help, as the dogs have been waiting without food in freezing conditions; they break free and fight off gulls for their first meal, but as they travel on their own, one by one they begin to die until only Shepard, Maya, and a few others return home. Eight Below is a 2006 American English-language Adventure Drama movie featuring Paul Walker, Bruce Greenwood, Moon Bloodgood, Jason Biggs, Wendy Crewson, Gerard Plunkett and Levi Woods. Buena Vista Pictures Distribution acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Eight Below was released on 13th April 2006 and takes a screen time of 120 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Eight Below was made on a budget of $40 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $120 million.
