A family and their dog arrive at a posh hotel where they encounter an orangutan named Dunston, who is being used by a jewel thief to steal from the guests, but the family and two boys team up to stop the criminal and keep Dunston as their new pet. Dunston Checks In is a 1996 English-language Comedy Adventure movie starring Jason Alexander, Faye Dunaway, Eric Lloyd, Rupert Everett, Glenn Shadix, Paul Reubens and Steven Lipton. Fox Family Films was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Todd Black and Joe Wizan. The movie is directed by Ken Kwapis. 20th Century Fox acquired the distribution rights for the film. Dunston Checks In was released on 12th January 1996 and takes a screen time of 90 minutes. Dunston Checks In was made on a budget of $16 million and at the box office it grossed only $9 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by John Hopkins and Bruce Graham. Cinematography was done by Peter Lyons Collister and editing by Jon Poll. The music was composed by Miles Goodman.
