In 9th century Northern Britain, a druid apprentice named Lorne escapes a slaughter and a fighter named Gareth discovers a dragon inside a meteor, forming a bond and together they try to retrieve other dragon eggs, while facing obstacles from the leader of the Painted tribe, ultimately achieving peace and renaming the wall as the Dragons Gate.
