The Hindi film explores the conflict between traditional values and education in a marriage during the 1960s and follows Geetas journey of self-discovery as she defies societal norms and pursues a career as a doctor to correct her husbands misconceptions. Dr Vidya is a 1962 Indian Hindi-language Family Romance movie featuring Manoj Kumar, Leela Chitnis, Nazir Hussain, Mumtaz Begum, Prem Chopra, Helen Richardson and Vyjayanthimala Bali. Mohan Studio was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Mohan Segal. Dr Vidya is written by : Sachin Bhowmik and : Sarishar Sailani and it is directed by Rajendra Bhatia. Deluxe Films acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Dr Vidya was released on 1st January 1962. The motion picture made a box office gross of ₹80 lakh. Cinematography was done by C. S. Puttu and editing by Pratap Dave. The music was composed by Sachin Dev Burman along with S. D. Burman.
