Two best friends with different professions fall in love with the same woman, but one of them sacrifices his own feelings to protect their friendship, while another opportunist tries to exploit their relationship before they reconcile and triumph over their enemies. Dostana is a 1980 Indian Hindi-language Action Crime movie featuring Amitabh Bachchan, Shatrughan Sinha, Zeenat Aman, Prem Chopra, Amrish Puri, Helen Richardson and Raj Bharti. Dostana was Produced by Yash Johar. Dostana is written by Javed Akhtar, Salim Khan and Salim Javed and it is directed by Raj Khosla. Dharma Productions acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Dostana was released on 17th October 1980 and takes a screen time of 153 minutes. Dostana was made on a budget of ₹40 crore and it was a hit at box office gross of ₹44 crore. Cinematography was done by Nariman A. Irani and editing by Waman Bhonsle. The music was composed by Laxmikant Shantaram Kudalkar along with Pyarelal Ramprasad Sharma and Laxmikant Pyarelal.
