Two womanizing bachelors pretend to be in a romantic relationship to convince the owner of an apartment to rent it to them, but their plan backfires when a letter confirming their domestic partnership is mistakenly sent to one of their conservative mothers, causing chaos, while at the same time they sabotage the womans relationship with her editor in an attempt to secure a promotion, but they eventually reconcile and admit that their fake homosexuality was all done for her. Dostana is a 2008 Indian Hindi-language Comedy Drama motion picture starring Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham, Priyanka Chopra, Kiron Kher, Bobby Deol, Boman Irani and Ben Schneider. Dharma Productions was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Hiroo Johar, Karan Johar and Hiroo Yash Johar. Dostana is written by Anvita Dutt Guptan and Tarun Mansukhani and it is directed by Tarun Mansukhani. Yash Raj Films acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Dostana was released on 13th November 2008 and takes a screen time of 139 minutes. Dostana was made on a budget of ₹40 crore and it was a hit at box office gross of ₹44 crore. Cinematography was done by Ayananka Bose and editing by Manan Sagar. The music was composed by IIFA Award winner Shekhar Ravjiani along with Vishal Dadlani, Vishal Shekhar and Salim Sulaiman.
