The elder of the two sisters, Gauri (Renuka Daftadar), is getting married and there is festivity in the household.. Doghi is a 1995 Indian Marathi-language Drama motion picture starring Renuka Daftadar, Sonali Kulkarni, Uttara Baokar, Sadashiv Amrapurkar, Madhu Kambikar, Suryakant Mandhare and Renuka Daftardar. Entertainment One in association with Sony Pictures Television, Paramount Pictures, Lukas Reiter Productions, AXN Original Productions and Shaw Media. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Nfdc, and Doordarshan. Doghi is written by Sumitra Bhave and directed by Sumitra Bhave and Sunil Sukthankar. Entertainment One International acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Doghi was released on 8th July 1995 and takes a screen time of 141 minutes. The screenplay for the movie was written by Sumitra Bhave. Cinematography was done by Charudatta Dukhande and editing by Sumitra Bhave, and Sunil Sukthankar. The music was composed by Anand Modak along with and Namdeo Dhondo Mahanor. At the 1996 National Film Awards It won 3 awards including: Special Jury Award for Best Actress (Sonali Kulkarni), Best Film on Social Issue and Best Female Playback Singer.
