The movie is based on Doctor Dolittle by Hugh Lofting. Doctor Dolittle was Produced by John Davis, David T. Friendly and Joseph M. Singer. Doctor Dolittle is written by Hugh Lofting, Nat Mauldin and Larry Levin and it is directed by Betty Thomas. 20th Century Fox acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Doctor Dolittle was released on 3rd September 1998 and takes a screen time of 85 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Doctor Dolittle was made on a budget of $70 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $294 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Larry Levin and Nat Mauldin.
