A retired tennis player named Tony plans to inherit his wife Margots fortune by tricking a con man into killing her, but when the con man tries to strangle Margot, she kills him in self-defense; Tony then frames Margot for the murder, but Chief Inspector Hubbard eventually uncovers the truth and Margot is proven innocent while Tony is caught by the police.
