In a fishing village, a group of students discovers a statue and the film tells the story of Perumooppan raising an abandoned child who grows up to be a skilled fisherman, falls in love with Chelli, and faces challenges including a test of her chastity and a deal with a tantric that ultimately leads to chaos and tragedy.
