Dhobi Ghat

The lives of four people intersect in Mumbai: a washer-man who wants to become an actor, a banker-turned-photographer, a painter looking for inspiration, and a newly-married immigrant who journals her experiences on home video. Dhobi Ghat is a 2011 Indian Hindi-language Drama movie starring Aamir Khan, Monica Dogra, Kriti Malhotra, Prateik Babbar, Danish Husain, Kitu Gidwani and Anupam Maanav. Aamir Khan Productions was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao, Tshephel Namgyal and Dhillin Mehta. The film is written and directed by Kiran Rao. UTV Motion Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Dhobi Ghat was released on 21st January 2011 in Hindi and English languages and takes a screen time of 100 minutes. Dhobi Ghat was made on a budget of ₹13 crore and it was a hit at box office gross of ₹13 crore. The screenplay for the movie was written by Anil Mehta. Cinematography was done by Tushar Kanti Ray and editing by Nishant Radhakrishnan. The music was composed by Academy Award Oscar winner Gustavo Santaolalla along with Ryuichi Sakamoto.
