A Tamil Tiger soldier escapes to a refugee camp in Sri Lanka before moving to France with a fake identity, where he becomes a caretaker in a dangerous housing project until a gunfight allows him and his supposed family to escape to England. Dheepan is a 2015 Tamil-language Crime Drama movie starring Antonythasan Jesuthasan, Jesuthasan Antonythasan, Kalieaswari Srinivasan, Claudine Vinasithamby, Vincent Rottiers, Faouzi Bensaïdi and Sal Yusuf. Dheepan was Produced by Jacques Audiard and Pascal Caucheteux. Dheepan is written by Jacques Audiard, Thomas Bidegain and Noé Debré and it is directed by Jacques Audiard. UGC Distribution acquired the distribution rights for the film. Dheepan was released on 26th August 2015 and takes a screen time of 115 minutes. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released.
