Devdas and Paro, childhood friends turned star-crossed lovers, faced the challenge of societal expectations and suffered the pain of separation when they were forced to abandon their love for each other. Devdas is a 1936 Indian Hindi-language Drama Romance motion picture featuring Vimal, Oviya, Saranya Ponvannan, Ganja Karuppu, Ilavarasu, Antony and Jamuna Barua. Sherali Films was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Nazir. Devdas is written by Saratchandra Chatterjee, P.c. Barua, Kidar Nath Sharma and A. Sarkunam and it is directed by P.c. Barua and A. Sarkunam. Ayngaran International acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Devdas was made on a budget of ₹44 crore and at the box office it grossed only ₹41 crore. Cinematography was done by Om Prakash and editing by Raja Mohammad. The music was composed by S. S. Kumaran.
