Devadoothan

A struggling musician is reluctantly asked to direct a musical play at his old college, where he was expelled for playing a forbidden instrument; while rehearsing, he hears the same melody from the instrument and begins changing the play based on it, uncovering a story of love, mystery, and tragedy involving a missing musician and a haunted instrument. Devadoothan is a 2000 Indian Malayalam-language Musical Drama motion picture starring Jaya Prada, Vijayalakshmi, Vineeth Kumar, Mohanlal Viswanathan, Janardanan, Murali Pillai and Raja Krishnamoorthy. Kokers Productions was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Siyad Koker. Devadoothan is written by Raghunath Paleri and directed by Sibi Malayil. Kokers and Anupama Release acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Devadoothan was released on 24th December 2000 and takes a screen time of 166 minutes. Cinematography was done by Santosh Thundiyil and editing by L. Bhoominathan. The music was composed by Vidyasagar.
