A man travels from New York to California to reunite with his girlfriend, but gets caught up in a chain of events that leads to betrayal and murder. Detour is a 1945 American English-language Crime Drama film starring Tom Neal, Ann Savage, Claudia Drake, Edmund Macdonald, Tim Ryan, Esther Howard and Harry Mayo. The movie is inspired from Detour: An Extraordinary Tale a 1939 novel by Martin Goldsmith. PRC Pictures was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Leon Fromkess. The movie is directed by Edgar G. Ulmer. Producers Releasing Corporation acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Detour was released on 25th January 1946 and takes a screen time of 68 minutes. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released. Detour was made on a budget of $20 billion and at the box office it grossed only $0 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Martin Goldsmith. Cinematography was done by Benjamin H.
