A writer named Ethan Poe struggles to escape his famous ancestors shadow and moves to a quiet town to finish writing his book, but as he gets involved with a woman named Anne, eerie incidents occur that resemble the dark tales of Poe, leading to gruesome deaths and Ethan becoming the main suspect in a police investigation, while Anne must find a way to outsmart the curse that haunts the Poe family and save herself.
