Deedar

The story follows a young man named Shamu who, despite being blind and traumatized, sings on the streets to make a living and searches tirelessly for his childhood sweetheart, Mala, whom he lost touch with after they were fired from their previous job, and after losing his eyesight in a sandstorm, he embarks on a journey filled with hope and joy to find her, exploring themes of love, perseverance, and the pursuit of happiness along the way. Deedar is a 1951 Indian Hindi-language Musical Romance motion picture featuring Dilip Kumar, Ashok Kumar, Nargis Dutt, Ashok Kumar Ganguly, Nimmi Nawab Banoo, Tabassum and Murad. Filmkar Productions Ltd. was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Rajendra Jain. Deedar is written by Azm Bazidpuri and directed by Nitin Bose. Filmkar Productions Ltd. acquired the distribution rights for the film. Deedar was released on 1st January 1951 and takes a screen time of 130 minutes. Cinematography was done by Dilip Gupta and editing by Bimal Roy. The music was composed by Naushad along with Shakeel Badayuni.
