Code Red Films in association with Duly Noted and Homegrown Pictures. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Ann Le, Lena Waithe, Effie Brown, Julia Lebedev, Justin Simien, Angelo Lopez and Angel Lopez. The motion picture is written and directed by Justin Simien. Lionsgate acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Dear White People was released on 4th December 2014 and takes a screen time of 108 minutes. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released and became successful at box office. Dear White People was made on a budget of $1 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $4 million. Cinematography was done by Topher Osborn and editing by Phillip J. Bartell.
